I'm confused. How are you supposedly playing a game if your 360 has the RROD?

Also, make sure the switch on the output from your 360 is set to HD, which I'm assuming you've already done.

Also make sure you connect the red and white audio plugs from the composite cable to your TV.

Otherwise, if it is showing up "dark" that sounds a little fishy. like maybe your connections on the tv are faulty.
Does your tv/ 360 have hdmi, if so try that.

I got the RROD as well, sorry man.
It has been about 7 weeks since mine RROD'd and I am still waiting for the replacement.

But WOW, Literally just now as I was typing the last sentence the doorbell rang, and it was the FedEx guy with my replacement xbox.

It says "It is our goal to provide you with the best gaming and entertainment experience possible, and hope to regain your trust, satisfaction and loyalty."

and I get 1 month Xbox live free.

I'm happy for you to have your console back but why the heck do people always seem so happy for getting 1 month free Live?

It's only worth about $5 USD and really MS shouldn't even bother with it unless they give RRoD's consumers a FULL 1 YEAR LIVE, after you were the one without a console for 7 weeks!!! A freaking 7 weeks my friend. All because of faulty MS hardware, not because you did anything wrong.

I really don't understand why people don't sell their 360s as soon as they come back from the first RRoD. I have 1 friend that is on the 5th RRoD (5 free months of Live, lol) and 2 other friends on their 3rd.

I have at least 9 friends with 360s and only 2 of them never got a RRoD, this is sad.

Optimistic predictions for 2008 (Feb 5 2008): Wii = 20M, PS3 = 14M, X360 = 9.5M

....How often do Nintendo and Sony send atleast something to you if your console dies?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I wouldn't know, I've heard of maybe one person who had to return his PS3. Or Wii for that matter. When a quarter of the consoles you make fail, you better have something to give out. Besides, what would Sony give you? Extra freeness on your free online service?

Hmmm maybe. Whenever I play online on a PS3, I think to myself "This could be freer".

As in go buy us some coffee.

- kopboi - did using the red/white audio cables with your composite cables get you sound for HD?

Just because I don't care, doesn't mean I don't understand.
