Forums - Sales Discussion - Will Japan EARTHQUAKE effect 3DS launch?

i dont know...i never was in that situation with earthquakes and tsunamis destroying everything...but i guess if in some areas the damage is very high i cant imagine people in that area caring about buying a 3DS...especially if they dont got a home no more or the game shops were destroyed...

so i would say...the bigger the damage over there is = less 3DS sales...

Then probably won't care about buying PS3, Wii or 360's either. I don't know if Nintendo has already shipped the 3DS for the UK and US launch or not. They usually get them a week in advance. I hope they have or the launch may be delayed. I still need to order some games for it.

This is the perfect place and time to talk about 3DS. I pray for the people in Japan and hope they survive the disaster over there, but that shouldn't stop us from talking about games and game devices. It's obviousl this disaster will effect all the consoles and handhelds.

How could you think of that... Thousands are homeless, thousands are dead,  who care about the effect on the 3DS sale.

People are so worried to show the world they are sensitive that they hurry to sensor the OP and everyone who thinks his question is relevant on this site regardless of the fact that the Earthquake happened only a couple of hours ago.

What I mean is that that the fact that he asks about sales or that we think his question is relevant on a site of this nature even at a time as this doesn't mean we give a shit about what happened (I have good friends in Hokkaido, for instance, and I know about natural disasters cause one stroke me and my family when I was just a kid). Assuming that we are not sensitive to it is a huge mistake. But you don't care about being right. You just care about the pleasure of censoring others with the huge sword of god, you inquisitors wanna be.

You do realise that even the head honcho at Nintendo dont care about the sale of the 3DS right?

I hope that the ones worried for 3DS sales can get their pay dividends.

My heart and prayers go out to Japan, and whatever Nintendo and other countries feel is right to do to recover, they should do so, even if it means delaying US/Others Launches.

this news said around 120k PS3 and 5600 360 destroyed

Id assume it would effect all of the stuff we get from them in some way/ Im sure the people are focused on friends family country in need and have probably forgot systems exist for the time being. My college normally does fundraisers when this stuff happens. I know ill be shelling out some cash.

I know that is true, but seece you can't expect people to relate. I remember Haiti, people were like why are we aiding them, we should worry about our own shit. I think people just generally look forward to things they like more, and plus I think nintendogamer has no idea, how large this earthquake is.

people are dying.. we are people... how is this hard to relate. Yes I know starvation etc also kills but this is such a wide scale in such a short period of time. It is horrific.

Some people say the quake was caused by the supermoon... But I dont think so.

"Is the Japanese earthquake the latest natural disaster to have been caused by a "supermoon"? No. What a supermoon means is that high and low tides will be slightly higher and lower than usual, and also werewolves are extra strong this month.

pretty sure that although tides are significant etc etc 8.9 on the richter... wasnt done by tides... just sayin
