Lo-Ping

The little “Minecraft Clone” that could is getting closer and closer to completion. To show how far this game has come recently a brand new trailer showing off the multiplayer features. 

I’m quite excited for this and it’s really cool to see the multiplayer.  Even through the apparent lag these people were experiencing, this is the smoothest integration of avatars I have seen outside of a Microsoft-developed game.

The other thing that impresses me about FortressCraft is how DjArcas, the developer, just shrugs off the criticisms of hundreds of uninformed internet idiots and just keeps on coding and releasing juicy glimpses at the the game such as this one.

I smell a lawsuit.

Do you think Notch would really bother suing them? Besides, unless they took code directly from Minecraft, Notch doesn't have any sort of anchor for a lawsuit. You can't sue someone for making a game based on the same genre as you.

This looks pretty original.

Besides, Notch said he's all up for piracy of Minecraft, there are extra versions created as a result, the original is not hampered. He's a cool guy. I don't know about Lawsuit as he makes plenty of money as it is now, but I can see now that this game will likely be compared to Minecraft to no end in both reviews and between users.

That looks awesome if they iron out the obvious lagg that seems to be ocurring and make the user interface more "smooth", likely to be patched and I can see good suppot for it, hopefully.

Why put the quotation marks around "Minecraft Clone"?

Maybe it will end up different to Minecraft, but they could at least have changed the name.

Tbh I have Minecraft and I really wouldn't mind having a "clone" on XBL, I don't think there is such type of game on consoles so it would be interesting how well it is received and executed. I'd personally buy it later on in it's cycle, once the bugs are ironed out and the system is well on the way.
