As we all know, PlayStation 3′s VP of everything, Kevin Butler, was tricked into re-tweeting the PS3′s root key–a code which allows for the Sony console to be jailbroken. At the time, he believed it to be a game of Battleship, but he was dead wrong. It seems as though Major Nelson decided to get a little laugh out of this situation on Twitter.

While it may not be the most professional thing to do, you can’t help but find some humor in it. Kevin Butler made a mistake, and as a result Major Nelson got to have some fun with it–actually, it seems as though a lot of people had fun with it.

And I saw that Major Nelson tweet earlier and couldn't help but laugh out loud.

I fully realize KB is not a real person and that he only retweeted the USB exploit, but you still can't deny the situation is hilarious.

Expect a backlash from Kevin Butler @ E3, I am calling it right now.

You don't know Butler, you just don't. Major Nelson has nothing on Butler when it comes to humor.

And its not the root keys, its the USB dongle ID generator key.

With how Sony going after people with threat of lawsuits and make headline news for weeks, if not months, wouldn't it reasonable to expect Sony employees to be aware of the situation?
