Forums - Nintendo Discussion - 3DS capable of running version of Resident Evil 5

Yeah because they didn't want a Wii version in the first place (too much $$$ spent already on the Ps3, xbox, and PC versions).

Even though a Wii version would have the support of the sales of RE4. So it would be worth that extra money.

I think the 3DS can do RE5 like the DS did Metroid Prime with Metroid Prime Hunters.

Itll look more or less the same but the handheld cant seriously compete with the console version.

I don't get the point of this discussion.  All portables are capable of doing a "version" of any game.

I think they meant a version that actually resembles the source game... even though the source game's look (look, not the entire game) was just a beefed up version of a GC game.

Kind of like the Wii can run a version of Dead Rising?

RE5 is basically a suped up RE4 (this is from many who have played it, so I'm not just making this up), while DR is a game unlike anything from the previous generation (so while I still maintain CTYD is a good game, I know the Wii cannot do DR in its original numbers).

Fact that Capcom ported RE5 to 3DS just to see what the 3DS is capable of this gets me wondering what else they could port? Also just because its possible on the 3DS doesn't mean its as easy on the Wii. I've heard that the 3DS uses shaders and technology like what is found in 360/PS3.

Though I gotta admit if its that easy to port to 3DS then with alittle work they should have no problem porting it to Wii. This just shows you Capcom is not one of Nintendo's biggest fans.

Yeah, different shaders just make the work easier, not necessarily a more powerful system (Other M, despite its flaws, shows what can be done with actual work).

Well the way I see it now, It would be just like the Call of Duty games. The xbox and PS version would sell more because they want the "best" version of the game, not a downgraded port.
