Halomania...the 360 should be handing PS3 its a$$ right now. How many triple A titles have they released this year? And according to everyone else on this site the PS3 has only had flop after flop.


 Well that's what you get for listening to fanboys. The PS3 has had some great games this year and while their debuts in the US haven't measured up in sales to games like Bioshock and Halo, they're still selling quite well. Not to mention the fact that Europe is becoming a real force for PS3 software. The numbers are incredibly close for both Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty 4 over there even though the 360 still has the console sales advantage over there for now.

Well, the PS2 is selling just about as many units in both hardware and software as the PS3 and combined, basically the same as the Wii in software. Give Sony another 6 months before writing the PS3 off as the combo of Home, increased popularity of the BD, movie downloads from the PSN and the upcoming Tivo-like service should have quite an impact on the PS3 brand.


 i hope that movies not being blu-ray movies, because if they are, you would have to download 30gb


 

Yeah, but some people will have all of that extra space and might want to use it on something.  I don't see why Sony can't allow PS3 users the option of a HD movie for an extra buck or two, but I do see your point and really agree that most downloads would end up being standard definition.

Thanks to kenobi after I got him to ban my old account (dallas) after someone hacked into it and being ok with me coming back under a slightly different username.  I appreciate our communication in the PMs.  Also I want to give a big thank you to vgchartz for being one of the cooler websites around.

I just love how people say the PS3 has won something when there's a single console on the market that sells less than it.

Exactly how much were the numbers adjusted btw?

True, but the PS3 has came a long long way from just a year ago.....and with the factors that i've mentioned I hope anyway that it will continue to grow relative to the other two but we'll just have to see eh?

I think it's more of a ZOMG we are actually NOT GETTING OWNED this holiday reaction of PS3 fanboys (including me)

we really felt after 80% of this site put 360 SO MUCH higher this holiday season that we even believed PS3 was gonna flop this holiday....

but the story now is different

You got that right, dude! I didn't think the PS3 would do so well, yet it's doing amazing in "others" both hardware and software wise. After the 40 gig failed to meat my expectatoins, I didn't think Playstation 3 would be able to reach the levels it at right now.

People mocked me when I said the 360 and PS3 would be neck and neck worldwide for the holidays and yet it appears truer every week.

It's a good sign for the PS3, since it didn't have big selling exclusives like Halo 3 or Bioshock this year but it's still almost tied.
