Each new color of Ps3 have boosted hardware smoothly on Japan, but still we don't get new colours here...Just think how nice would white Ps3 slim look, I might buy it just for the looks (and since I got old model)

Few weeks ago Red Wii came to market,last year black Wii and it has boosted hardware nicely (holiday boost also etc), so why its so hard to bring, like 5 diffrent coloured Xbox360's and Ps3's to market?They would boost hardware like crazy on holidays.

I have wondered the same thing. Also, this applies to the PSP...there are like 6 different colors offered in Japan on a regular basis, but just black and white offered in USA. Seems weird to me.

Dunno really. Surely it wouldn't cost much would it?

But on a side note, I love Black Consoles. Gamecube's color was disgusting. Black just makes the thing look luxurious.

Its really damn expensive to manufacture so many colors.

Especially WHITE is a difficult color to paint perfectly. Since the slim came out its a MATTE white, which is a bit cheaper, but white is still tough. 

I dont think these are being painted, I would think the materials they re using for the covers are what is colored.

glad i'm not the only one who wants colors, sony can at least make colors to match the controllers they sell...blue, red, pink, white and silver.

Maroon and dark Royal Blue PS3 and PS3's would sell a shit load, very elegant.

I don't think MS and Sony want the headache of so many more SKU's that would create.  Think about it, the Wii has what, 1 model?  Different colors would be a different SKY, so they have what?  3 SKU's?  I think Sony and MS both had over 3 SKU's in the first year (with all the different HDD sizes, etc)

Besides, if you REALLY want to, just paint it, go look at some of the pics online of people's PS3's

when i had just read the title i thought this was more colorful games. was kinda disappointed when i realized this was about the color of the console itself because i'd agree that there are far too many gray/brownish games on the HD twins! i found it hard to believe that the colorful enslaved actually uses the unreal engine because all the other games that use it look the same!
