I love this game and have been thinking about it from a few angles for a while now. Here is my synopsis every companion went to college (in alphabetical order):
Alistair
Major: Political Science with a minor in Theology
Extracurriculars: Proud supporter of Greek life. A member of a fraternity. Thirsty Thursdays through Saturday are spent getting toe down drunk off of beer bongs and keg stands. While drunk, Alistair is known for his loud boisterous behavior only to shut his mouth and awkwardly hit on girls who instantly wait for the nearest excuse to leave. Afterwards, Alistair grumbles to one of his frat brothers, blacks out, and wakes up naked in another guy's bed. Routinely offered the head quarterback position of the university football team by Oghren, but never takes it due to Oghren embarassing him in public.
Leliana
Major: Classic Literature, Creative Writing, and Music
Extracurriculars: A teacher's pet. Leliana has an infatuation for quaint, though fit and attractive female professors in their late 40s and early 50s. She is the President of the LGBT club. Spends most of her time under a tree in the commons studying or reading classic poetry. A common heartthrob for all the male students, Leliana is always one to flirt, yet always stays late after the class of a particular middle-aged, male professor. Rumors abound about her and Morrigan, yet when questioned, Leliana charms the head off of the accuser with her eloquent speech and songbird voice.
Morrigan
Major: Sociology, International Business, Arcitecture, Philosophy, and too many to list
Extracurriculars: A lifelong student, Morrigan is going on her 8th year and is not even close to half-way done through half of her majors. The President of the Harry Potter Fan Club. Occasionally drops in on one of Alistair's frat parties, but tends to leave once a slobbering drunk walks past her and tries to awkardly hit on her. Morrigan has been spotted coming out of Leliana's house early on Sunday mornings wearing a long t-shirt and sandals.
Oghren
Occupation: Head Football Coach (American Football, not Soccer)
Ever since taking the head coaching gig, Oghren has whipped the university football team into a perennial conference powerhouse. His football team is known for hard nosed defense, at least 8 penalties a game for helmet-to-helmet contact alone, and an offense characterized by 150 rushing yards/game. Oghren is occasionally spotted trying to recruit Alistair for quarterback on campus. Alistair initially agrees, but once Oghren brings up "polishing" and "pikes," Alistair gets red faced and states he is late for class.
Shale
Major: Pigeon smashing
Occupation: Pigeon smashing school mascot and Part-time Statue for the Art Department
Shale is a perennial fixture for the university. She is known for smashing pigeons under her foot and biting their heads off during half time at university football games. After football season, Shale spends her time arguing with philosophy professors about their convoluted meaning of life, which she deems as irrelevant and antiquated because it does not include the life and death of pigeons according to Shale's foot. Shale is occasionally seen modeling for the Art Department as the epitome of a statue, though she doesn't dare let a first year Art student approach her with a hammer and chisel unless he wants a broken foot. Shale is very picky on who she will let chisel on her.
Sten
Major: History with a specialization in Modern Warfare
Extracurriculars: Sten being the exotic, tall handsome foreign exchange student is quite popular with the ladies...Much to the disdain of Leliana and Morrigan in particular. Sten's ability to keep his mouth shut, appear that he is listening when he is actually gazing with that "what the hell are you saying, I only got time for a quickie" look, and his stature and physique have him at the top of every frosh girl living in the dorm's deflower me list. Alistair occasionally tries to get advice from Sten on how to deal with the opposite sex, but after much argument with Sten using the words "small" and "weak," Alistair leaves just as confused as when he came.
Wynne
Occupation: Classical Philosophy Professor
Wynne is annually regarded as the best professor in student reviews. Her office time is spent talking with Leliana about the "wild oats" of youth and trying to schedule in a cute male student whom she thinks is a perfect fit for Leliana. On the weekends, Wynne holds study sessions at her Victorian house where glasses and bottles of wine are given more academic thought and consumption than the material from class. Wynne regularly visits Alistair on Sunday mornings where she tries her best to hide her intentions, but ends up leaving Alistair embarassed because she comes on strong and close with her bosom up to his nose, but he can't find words because he woke up earlier in the day in another man's bed.
Zevran
Major: Women's Studies with a minor in Psychology
Extracurricular: Zevran lives in the dorms as a Residential Assistant (RA). He is often seen roaming the floors of the dormitory looking for open doors to peep into and spark a conversation. Zevran is most interested in first year males and females whom he recommends to come back to his dorm for some "away from home" sessions. The President of the Fashonistas Club, Zevran can be seen strutting around in the latest Fall or Spring fashions with plenty of male and female heads turning. Zevran, due to his lascivious and independent nature, is rarely seen with Alistair, Morrigan, Leliana or any of the others from Ferelden. Zevran's schtick with them has worn thin, Zevran is tired of them, and Zevran always desires something new, exotic and untouched.
Loghain Mac Tir
Occupation: University President
Loghain Mac Tir is the much maligned, misunderstood university president. Under his tenure, enrollment in the university has doubled, attendance costs have gone down 50%, and public-private sector partnerships have grown more than three-fold. Loghain is rarely seen outside of his penthouse office. When seen outside of his office, he is briskly walking with his cell phone in his ear to his black luxury car. Not one to quibble in faculty affairs, Loghain has established a vast, faculty committee structure in order to free his time for the long-term plans of the university; instead of arguing with Wynne over faculty compensation and benefits.
There we go. I did not include the Mabari War Hound because I never really included him in my party in Dragon Age: Origins. Any feedback or characterizations of your own would be much appreciated :)
