That would be a horrible mistake....especially in America where Halo is easily more popular...

October will help to move the momentum a tad bit away from 360 and Reach. November or December will be OK as GT 5 is gonna sell buttloads anyway, but MS is gonna have the upper hand throughout the holiday season.

So they have to be pushing for an October 2010 release, not too far from Reach, but not too close to it either.

If GT5 doesn't release in 2010, its gonna be a major epic fail of catastrophic proportions as its gonna reduce the hype and lower its sales.

October or early November. That would be the best period to release with the christmas season on the doorstep. Would boost christmas sales even higher. 

I see. So a not-so-close to Halo: Reach release date but still close enough to steal some of its thunder or as Nightsurge so eloquently put it. Cool beanz. Btw, when we do get it....do you guys wanna race? :D

Not sales wise, different genres obviously.  But possibly overall marketing and hype level.  If they released the same week the ad campaigns would be one huge mess!  GT5 and Halo: Reach everywhere!

if I were sony i'd release it the same day has halo.  the thousands of articles in free press discussing the match-up would be well worth it.  who cares if halo sells better in npd that month - the main goal is to get consumer awareness.  honestly, i would think it would be great for both franchises.

I say October around the middle of it .
