- DSiLL price cut from 20,000 Yen to 18,000 Yen
- DSi price cut from 18,900 Yen to 15,000 Yen
- DSLite apparently getting a price cut too from 16,800 to some Japanese word that can't be translated by Google cause it's a picture (Perhaps it says it won't be made anymore, just a guess)

Was going to buy the LL in US, but the price was to high, and I'm making my stand on buying anything the day it comes out..

Case in point, right after LL was released in US, rumors of DS-3D emerged, not good business in my eyes..

I remember when I got the Red DS-BIG with Mario cart and not to long later DSLite was announced.

It's not just a Nintendo thing, many companies do it, but this DS-LL and DS-3D was a little to close to each other, announcement wise..

It says "open pricing", which in Japan means that retailers are free to set the price they like, i.e. no MSRP.

It's interesting that Nintendo are dropping the prices now, I wonder if they'll drop again for the launch of the 3DS or if that's it for now.

Maybe the screens are actually cheaper to produce so they can cut the price to push more sales.

Smaller screen with more dpi is actually more expensive than the "standard". IE. 15.4'' is much cheaper than 13.3'' at the same resolution.

I wonder if we will see price drops in other territories.

I have been putting off buying a replacement for my son's DSlite (and me a DS XL) awaiting an E3 price drop.  I think the former will happen.

So this pretty much confirms the 3DS in Japan this year. I wonder if the price cuts will get here for the summer time. It'll be good business if they do.
