That was extremely uncool of him! >:[

At least he won't get to play against Holland

Gutted for Ghana, nothing worse than getting knocked out of a world cup to that kind of cheating.

It aint cheating. The rule says - you stop the ball with your and its a penalty. Thats what happened. I think the rule should change though. maybe if that happened the referee would still mark it as a goal. But, right now, what he did isnt cheating.

Cheating would be if the referee called a penaly when that didnt happen or he scored goal like Maradona in 86.

That was just quick thinking on his feet

He had absolutely no intention of stopping that certain goal in any 'fair' manor and so to me that is cheating. Deliberately breaking the rules to create an unfair advantage with no intention of playing fair.

I understand you. What I meant is that to me that is more a problem with the rule than with the player.

This is a World Cup. They fought for years to get there. Choosing to let the ball pass at that moment would have been hard on anyone. Choosing it in that split second that the ball came, almost impossible in my opinion.

Thats why I think they should change the rule. When you see that the ball was obviously going to get in, it should count as a goal. And the guy should gert expelled. That way, you avoid situations like these.

Good thing for Uruguay to pass, though the way they won was very Latin American. Mario Kempes in 1978 stopped a ball with his hands, later, the goalie stopped the penalty shot. Argentina was world champion after that.

Ps @zexen: What would you do if you had to support either Brazil or England in a world cup final? No cheating.

:P

Yeah I suppose in that split second under those circumstances it's difficult to really judge a player as I doubt he would be the only one to take that action in that situation.

I have a question, I know they are out and everything but why does everyone hate England?

I just bring England up because I think that for us argentinians are most "hatred" football rivals are Brazil and England.

I personally love England, though not for its footballers but its musicians!

In England our biggest rivals these days seem to be Germany France and Argentina. No particular order. France likely for locational reasons, Germany and Argentina previous political differences. Oh and the fact that your overweight coach robbed us in "86
