Of course, I mean this campaign and story wise.
Most would agree that the original Halo offered the best campaign out of the entire series, due to it's large rich cinematic set-pieces and open sandbox like outdoor environments. The planet Halo gave me a sense of wonder and awe within it's atmosphere, something which has been lost in it's sequels. The story was also well written for a first-person shooter that. In several game interviews, Bungie have stated that they would like to bring back elements from Halo: CE. that were lost in Halo 2 and 3, back to Reach but evolve it to the next-gen level. They've been touting a tale about tragedy, heroism, and sacrifice with a brand new cast of characters. Which is fitting for such a tragic event in the Halo universe if you've read the novel Halo: Fall of Reach. They are thankfully also bringing the Elites back, they were much more fun to fight than the Brutes.
I hope Bungie pulls it off this time, since they've dissapointed me with Halo 2 and 3's campaign and story. Halo 3: ODST, while not at as good as Halo: CE, it was a step in the right direction with set-pieces and pacing almost as good as the first. I also hope they nail the story for the first time, Bungie have also promised a story about heroism and tragedy, but all we received was a corny macho war story. I hope Reach isn't one of 2010's biggest disappointments.
