Υou should read the article (at least). It is a magazine scan (a russian magazine) and the only in-game screen to be presice.

I'm with you.  I've been tired of it for quite some time.

Does look slightly ugly. But it isn't even the polish stage yet though. We all know it is going to look kick ass when it is finished.

We're 4½ years into the HD gen.  As a whole just about every game looks incredible.  Its not marketing, its GRAPHICS OBSESSED FANBOYS that keep making a big deal of this.  Call it like it is.  Gears of War, Halo 3, Killzone, Uncharted, Alan Wake, Forza, Gran Turisimo it just goes on and on and on and on and on.  NONE of those games looks remotely close to being BAD, but look how much time and energy has been spent ARGUING over their graphics instead of enjoying their gameplay. 

I guess I've been gaming so long that I just wish more of us that grew up with gaming would grow up . . .

The GoW 3 picture looks like story board concept art, not an actual screen shot of anything. So it's not even a starting point for how the game will look graphics-wise. It's a possible discussion point for art style perhaps, but that's console independant.
