Ey? Dragon Quest Swords "already" in June in Japan? Where have you seen that vanguardian?

Going to be great months then, Paper Mario, Dog Island (when good reviews), One Piece Adventure, Dragon Quest Swords and got a few more which I'm interested about but first to see what they will do.

I'm a huge fan of Dragon Quest, also spin off games, so am really looking forward for the WII version.

I haven't played any of the Dragon Quest, are they really that good?

It's been mentioned a couple of places, but there's been no official announcements so we don't know for sure yet.

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

All I played was DQ8, and it was pretty much right in between Final Fantasy and Paper Mario in terms of difficulty/"hardcoreness", art style, and humor.

edit:  Forgot to mention, the series is absolutely huge in Japan, to the point where they forbid launching it on weekdays 'cause everyone in the country would skip school that day to go get it.  It's like bigger than Halo is in the US.  Not sure if the spin-offs have the same success though, how is the DQ spinoff on the DS doing?

... situation of PS3 looks horrible in Japan. No major titles for Japanese gamers till June and this Golf game... I don't know, Japanese devs make the best games all over the world (Tekken, VF, RR, FF, MGS...) and Japanese players don't care about this treasures... They play crap like Wii-something. How Wii-play can be a million seller while Okami is below 200k, VF5 below 100k (!) MGS:PO below 400k... This Wii-crap should be around 20k...

Well Wii play is bundle with a controller. Wii Sport isn't full price...and mayby just mayby the gamer crowd has changed, I find myself not having time to play all this great AAA games. Japan might have the same problem which might be the reason for the good DS sales.

Wii play is not bundled with a controller in Japan

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Johnsobas, Wii Play is bundled with a wiimote in Japan as well, just check amazon.co.jp and you will see for yourself.

WiiGirl, IGN has Dragon Quest Swords with a release date of 30 june for Japan.

Comments:

PS2 sales have picked up - but of the 4 titles in the top 10 (well, 4th at #12),  2 will vanish next week. Kingdom Hearts is a no brainer (re-release), and sales for Musou Orochi dropped 75%.

Still only 1 PSP in top 50, and 2 PS3 titles. Konami can't be happy with the performance of "Pro Baseball Spirits 4" - new console, title will only sell in Japan (super deformed?) that title has flunked. Maybe a baseball game for the Wii would do better ;)

I think the sales for "Mezase!! Fishing Master" are actually sort of reasonable at 19k. Unlikely to have had a huge shipment, development may be paid off by now already!

The main bright light for Sony is that PSP sales didn't really dip at all (even though sales of MH2 dropped about 25%). The dark light is that PS3 sales continue to drop... if it loses too much momentum, it may need a "re-release" when decent games finally hit.

Odd DS/Wii sales - hardware shortages, or drop in damage? Stockpiling for Golden Week?

These are great comments. And I add some comments based on the current situation in Japan.

For most of developers, the sales of game for PS3 isn't well at all because of the expensive developing cost. So, Konami would think multi-platform as same as Capcom. For example, MGS4...  (In addition, it is seemed that the developer can't pay the cost by the sales only in Japan)

PSP is seemed to recover in Japan, but this is the phenomenon only for MHF2. Other games are not recovered. So, to tell PSP is truely recovered, we should wait the sales of next games like FFT.

At last, Wii and DSL, Mezase!! Fishing Master was sold more than
anticipated. From Shinobi, At some shops, it became sold-out. Probably, this shows the market of Wii is quite a different from present consoles. From the sight of gamer, Mezase!! Fishing Master may be  the colorless game, but from the other sight, it may not be so.

Probably, the decreasement of sales of Wii and DSL is due to the shop. In April, Paper Mario for Wii and Phoenix Wright 4 for DS is released. Both are very popular in Japan. So, the many people want to buy and some people buy them with console. So, shop might stock Wii and DS for the release of them.
