The unfortunate thing for Sony in Japan right now is that there is very little reason why the PS3 will pass the 20k barrier for a little while; from what I can find the PS3 has almost no games to be released for a couple of months. The embarassing thing is it looks like the PS3 is a good 10 weeks away from selling 1 Million units in Japan, if that happens the Wii could have sold 2.5 to 3 Million units by the time the PS3 sells 1 Million unit.

That is something I have tried to point out more then once. Sony has one game a month announced for the comoning three months in Japan. During that time Nintendo should be able to reach 2.5-3 millions.

How much can FF take back?

Sucks to be Sony, I was thinking that too, I was going to say "Will the Wii reach 2million before PS3 reaches 1million?" Looks like that's a no-brainer now.

... situation of PS3 looks horrible in Japan. No major titles for Japanese gamers till June and this Golf game... I don't know, Japanese devs make the best games all over the world (Tekken, VF, RR, FF, MGS...) and Japanese players don't care about this treasures... They play crap like Wii-something. How Wii-play can be a million seller while Okami is below 200k, VF5 below 100k (!) MGS:PO below 400k... This Wii-crap should be around 20k...

Hope so or else the demand is getting lower in Japan. We will see more figures tomorrow here and on Friday on Media Create.

Y-Koron is the WII normal available in Japan, or is it like one minute a palette comes in and the next moment all the consoles are gone, sold that is.

As far as I see, the shortage of Wii has not resolved yet. Indeed,  the demand for Wii is in slowdown at a sluggish pace.  But, It is because the lack of killer game. The good sales of Wii is based on the popularity among the people haven't been interented in the games. They tend to like "Nintendo" game and want only "Nintendo" game. And now, Nintendo can't supply such games for them... (Of cource Wii sports and Wii Play are exceptions)

Conversely, The sales of Wii has probability to drasticaly increased when Nintendo release killer games.

Yeah but the Wii has a game coming soon to bump up sales, Super paper mario, and since its a sidescorlling platformer, it'll probably do great

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Are you starting to get frustrated with the realization that not all people share your tastes and that you're actually in the minority?

Well Wii play is bundle with a controller. Wii Sport isn't full price...and mayby just mayby the gamer crowd has changed, I find myself not having time to play all this great AAA games. Japan might have the same problem which might be the reason for the good DS sales.

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!

June might have just gotten worse for Sony, there's been statements that Dragon Quest : Swords for Wii is shipping then. :)

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

Actually, elites were minority since the very beginning of mankind.

Bad news just keeps coming, and I really want to play that game.

Ey? Dragon Quest Swords "already" in June in Japan? Where have you seen that vanguardian?

Going to be great months then, Paper Mario, Dog Island (when good reviews), One Piece Adventure, Dragon Quest Swords and got a few more which I'm interested about but first to see what they will do.

I'm a huge fan of Dragon Quest, also spin off games, so am really looking forward for the WII version.

Well I like that my two favorite systems are leading the top 10 software chart. I don't really understand why with the huge userbase the PS2 has that the software numbers aren't more like this more often, expecially with the PS3 barely making a dent as of now. Are Japanese gamers just shelving their PS2s and playing their DSs like crazy? I bet you look at the top 50 and 40 of those games will still be DS. That's insane domination by one system in any market.
