The Move controller will be at least $40. The nunchuck/navigator will be at least $20.

well if the move is like sony has said half of a DS3 than splitting the DS3 in half would be about $30.00 for both half's since the ds3 is near $60.00

I don't think Sony should wait to see what Microsoft does.

It'll look like a desperation move on Sony's part. They need to keep the guns blazing.

Force Microsoft to respond to them again.

I'm sure Sony is going to want to make the maxium profit off the PS3 for as long as possible and will wait till the last possible minute.  That being the moment MS drops it price, most likely around the launch of Natal.

@ Squilliam

I guess MS should have burned their money, as well, since after 9 years the X-Box brand has still lost them more money than it has made.

Actually Sony won't drop their price for another year.  They said it themselves.  They will do exactly like they did in 2008.  Let MS take the momentum, ride it out, and then do their move the following year.  Same as 2009 and 2007 too.

Now, I still don't see where people are getting the idea that they could afford to bundle Move with the PS3 for $250-300.  They would have to take another $100 loss or more at those prices! (if $250).

I'm not sure where this $250 wish price is coming from either. I'm guessing it's from the same group that's expecting to see a $150 Natal/Arcade bundle.

Last since I heard, SCE stated the Move starter pack, with no specifics mentioned as to what it includes, will be under $100, meaning probably $99. For that price, I would guess it includes the basic controller, a tech demo game and a PSEye.

I think some people are forgetting Move doesn't work without the PSEye, so any console bundle would have to include that $35 peripheral as well. The Move controller will likely be priced the same as the DS3 at $55.

Putting that into consideration, a $299 Move bundle would almost be a $100 price reduction off the current $299 price.

But by the same token, I see almost no point in a $399 Move bundle if it's virtually the same price as a Move starter pack and a $299 PS3, unless they threw in a larger HDD maybe (250GB vs. 120GB). Even then, it would have to come with a pretty decent game.

I agree about the false hope of a $50 dollar price cut.  There's no way Sony can afford that.  It seems people have forgot that price cuts don't have to be a "set in stone" $50.  If Sony does price cut this year, the most likely price we'll see is $279.  Also the Move bundle will definitely not be $299.  Again, if Sony does price cut, the most likely price for the bundle will be ~ $319-$329.  If there is no cut, then the bundle will probably end up being $349.

$60 for a Move controller with the navigator would put it in direct parity with the Wii Remote/nunchuck (without motion plus).

I'd consider that reasonable. I don't see any reason why SCE would price their peripheral set cheaper than that of the Wii, not that I'd be terribly upset if they only charged $50 for the pair.

Of course if they charge $30 for the Move and $30 for the Navigator, it's the same thing even though the Navigator technically can be replaced by a one-handed DS3 (hardly preferable unless you really want to save money).

We will se a price cut for PS3 this year. Simple.
