Xbox 360 general manager Marc Whitten reckons that in future Project Natal may be able to learn things about you based on what you wear and how you react to things happening on-screen.

"Natal isn't just about gaming - it's about all living-room experiences," he told Fast Company (thanks Kotaku).

"Imagine a sporting event - Natal could know which team you're for because it sees your jersey, or knows you thought a bad call was made when you yell 'boo'. It learns about you and gets smarter to create a more tailored entertainment experience."

Whitten also told the business site, "If you counted the number of buttons in your living room, it would send a chill down your spine," and that Natal was designed to get away from our reliance on complicated remotes.

Crowd sourcing could bring all sorts of interesting capabilities to Natal. But that would require big brother gathering information about you and your habits :)

I actually don't think that's really that great of an idea. I like Natal as an interface, but going as far as learning who you are...I'm not sure. Why don't they just allow you to program it to know who you are if you really want it to.

And thats why I posted the article :) I'm quite the conspiracy theorist.

You know what's going to happen? Natal is actually a little robot, like the transformers, and it will study you and once it has gained enough information it will kill you and then take you T.V. apart computer and it will leave the 360 alone, but if you have a PS3 it will take that apart to and transform into a version of you. LMFAO! I'm not that much of a conspiracy theorist,lol. But the fact that it could have the ability to learn things about you based on clothing, actions,ect is a little scary in itself.

True, but facebook cant gather data due to your reaction to something or by the clothing that you wear...

I'm waiting for Natal(v2+) to ask me how I'm feeling perhaps because of a cough, pale skin, walking hunched. "I ache right here..."
