Hey VGchartz. First of all I'm living in the UK and I "DON'T" want a PC or an import.

My current laptop is pretty poor for any 3D gaming since it doesn't have a dedicated graphics card and everything else is medicore (for the time) 2007 tech. 1.6Ghz dual core, 2GB Ram, Vista etc.

It's finally beginning to crap out on me with bits falling off, occasional flickering screen and slow performance and not long ago I have been recieving the Smart System Hardrive failure imminent warning on boot up. The hardrive finally died today but then I managed to bring it back to life temporarily (be it a reformat). Hopefully it will last untill payday (Friday 14th April). It's finally gave me the push to upgrade.

This is where you lovely people come in. My Budget is around £650-750. ($1000-1160)

I'm looking for a gaming laptop with atleast a 2.2Ghz Dual Core, (good I3 or I5 etc) 4GB of ram and a pretty decent (For laptops, not PC's obviously) graphics card. Hardrive space isn't very important but I'd like atleast 150GB+. The higher the screen resolution the better.

The games I'll be running won't be using heavy graphics but I would still like the extra kick for whatever reason.

If some good laptops don't meet the loose requirements I typed please post it anyway. I've been searching on Amazon for a little bit but they always fail to list the graphics card  and normally the laptops in retail outlits suck and are overpriced. I'll begin searching various other places as I post this.

I'll ask you the same things that I tell anyone looking for a "gaming laptop:" How much do you think you'll be playing really hardware-intensive games "on the go," and are you willing to pay twice as much money for hardware that's half as powerful as a comparatively priced desktop to do so?

If your answers to these two questions aren't at least "very often" and "I guess so," respectively, then I'd strongly suggest just building a desktop and using the remainder of your money to grab a netbook for on-the-go productivity.

i got a gaming laptop, and guess what it didn't support games, i'm stuck playing star craft, and warcraft nothing else works :(

I said I don't want a Desktop in my first sentence :P

I think in the UK your looking at £2000 ish for a really decent gaming laptop.
My laptop is a £1000 Sony Vaio and that isn't even close to being able to play high spec games on high settings.

Not true at all, ACER has some great laptops on amazon at great prices. I remember seeing a Core i5, HD 5650 for $750

May I ask why you don't want a desktop?

I would go with the 13 inch macbook pro personally (it's just under 1200 US but I'm not sure how VAT and all the rest works). Most of the best games run natively on OSX now (especially as Steam comes to mac along with all the Valve games, ID, EA, Bliz and a lot of others make their games for mac already) and it has pretty good specs.

I like that it has a 10 hour battery, very solid construction and is rated the top laptop consistently by Consumer Reports (the premier American consumer product review magazine). If you are a student or something like that you can get a further discount that would put it down to your range for sure.

I mainly like macs since they almost never break (and if they do they're REALLY easy to get fixed fast at the apple store), they have really cheap OS upgrades (29 bucks for 10.6 instead of 200+ for Windows 7) and between OSX and being able to install Windows it can run anything. Even better is it lets me trade in my computer every 2 years since they hold their value well (I bought a macbook pro 15 inch at my school for 1100 dollars new over 2 years ago, its selling today on ebay for 800 with bidding still going for 4 more days) while you can barely give away used PCs.

The construction and overall build quality is vastly higher too.
