I voted trophies, because I feel so satisfied when i see that I got a trophy. They are like achievements plus a trophy. achievements don't really make me try to get all the other achievements, as for the trophies i feel the need to get that platinum.

If you like Bling = trophies

If you like completeness = Achievements

Im not interested int either, tho I do not hate them.

PS3 trophies, without a doubt. Why?

* Platinum trophies give u an instant understanding of the other gamer! Wether they are a completist or just a person who plays through games easily & achieves little. Achivements you have to go through all their games to now this, with just points you cannot tell easily what gamer they truly are.

* Trophies have trophies, points and levels unlike Achivements with only points!

* Levels. Gaining levels makes it much more enjoyable & it gets doubly harder with each level. It makes it feel like an RPG. Another easy way to tell what gamer u are. Brillient!

* Hidden scores. I like this difference. U can sneak up on friends by keeping your gained trophies a secret. When u are ready to humiliate them, update your trophies within a few seconds. Achievemets do this automatically... Boring!

- All PSN & PS3 games have had trophies for 2 years now.

What??? U don't even own a PS3 or one game! How can u even vote in this thread, or comment? Renting or playing a mates for a bit would not give u a good idea either.

I have had a 360 since launch, one year before I got my PS3. I never botherd with Achivements then and I still cannot be bothered with them now.

Platinum's are hardcore and you have to work hard. Sure you can get heaps of points and go up levels, but getting a plat is something to brag about and holds high status :D If you have the time to do most anyways :/

But do PS3 owners only play games from 2009 and 2010? No. MGS4 is one of the most popular PS3 games and it doesn't have trophies. Valkyria Chronicles is quite a popular game on here, that has no trophies. Plenty of high-profile PS3 games from 2006-2008 (maybe some from 2009 as well?) don't have trophies.

Multi-console ownership isn't a requirement for voting in this thread. Multiple PS3 owners who don't own a 360 have voted in this thread as well. In a forum where the 360 crowd is in the clear minority, it's suspect when you single out a 360 owner for stating a preference for a 360 feature (heck I even gave the trophy cards credit for giving you a pretty good quick and dirty overview. Whereas it takes more work to get a better look at a gamer's achievements) when you have so many PS3-only owners stating a preference for the PS3 feature.

I say both are equally good.

I prefer achievements to trophies although I don't actively pursue either. The reason I prefer achievements is because when you sign in to your profile you see that number attached to your name so it makes it feel like you are getting a value placed on you.

On the ps3 to see the trophies you have to navigate through the xmb so its out of the way you won't see it unless you are looking for it.
