Forums - Sony Discussion - FFXIII Staying PS3-exclusive it seems.

From www.ff-xiii.net :

Apparently the upcoming issues of Dengeki or Famitsu (not sure which yet) will have an interview with Kitase and Nomura and some news leaked out.

Kitase: The Blue-Ray's disc space and the PS3 HDD's standards has helped us in a lot in terminating (mostly, if not absolutely) loading times.
Kitase: Just like how 7 was a huge improvement from 6, the improvement between 12 and 13 may be big too.

Nomura: Our programmers were asking, "is it okay if we program it as a PS3 exclusive? If you're thinking of porting it to other consoles, we might have to change the specs to follow suit the others." And I answered, "PS3 exclusive, of course."
Nomura: The staff just showed me how it looks to fly with an airship while in the World Map. It's been awhile since I last saw something "FF-ish".
Nomura: We haven't announced who else are in the Versus team, but we've got some big names.

As for news not related to FF13, there were some comments on Cloud.
Nomura: Kazushige Nojima (scenario writer for CCFF7, KH2) still doesn't want to part from Cloud so we might do something with him again.
Nomura: Something video-like like AC would be nice.
Good news for PS3 fans. You may now exclusively breath a sigh of relief.

Square Enix also announced a new PS3 game called "Lord of Vermilion". It has nothing to do with the FF series, it seems.

There are no scans yet but the info provider did show proof of owning the latest magazines (that will be coming out in a few more days) so I hope this is reliable enough until we can get solid scans. Just please keep in mind that this isn't 100% at the moment.

Anyone up for a Sword of Vermillion sequel? I am.

Hmm, if they call VII an improvement from VI and then continued on with the VII style I really don't know how excited I can be for XIII improving from XII.

Well. That's sucks. I was kinda hoping they would eventually give up. But, it is definitely good for ps3 owners who really want a great FF game. If it stays on this course it is likely to be an awesome game.

I think they're reffering to the huge graphical overhaul that was VI to VII.

I remember the utter shock I had from playing the VII demo when it came out on PS1. I remember thinking "that's Final Fantasy? in utter awe.

Interesting that the developers had to ask "should we dev for Multi-plat?"...

That makes me wonder exactly what the programmers were preparing for. X360? Wii? Mobile Phones?

good for ps3 owners and a good system seller in japan

Mr Sticky , Sword of Vermillion was developed by Sega ( Yu Suzuki )

I may be wrong, but today Famitsu has reveal that Lord of Vermiliion is a trading card game on arcade ...

There was the first scans also ...

Here the scan that say that LoV is an arcade game :

==> I assume he is talking about gfx, not gaming content.
I still consider the game may finish on the Xbox360, but later like MGS4.
We will maybe see some early in game at E3 2008 ...

Time to Work !

He might have to end up saying it 14 more times before people believe him.

Um, all that proves is that they aren't planning on a port at the moment. And don't bring up any lines about how past games were exclusive. Those would make port unlikely, but I'm just discussing the interview linked here, and whether it's valid proof.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I could believe the game remaining exlusive, but thinking it's actually possible to stop speculation of a port? Lol!

And that is what your post seems to be saying.
