seriously though... it's so hard to find a shooter based tactics game. They are almost all in the fantasy setting which is great, but gets old, the rest end up being in giant robots.

Lycanthropes and fireballs say that this game is also a fantasy setting. :P

The game certainly has potential. The movement ranges and large battlefields make it look like blocking is impossible. Looks like the defensive strategy is to assign a couple units to cover fire while either quickly eliminating heavy-hitting enemies or taking cover from their huge weapons. Clustering would be a very bad idea with all the explosive weapons in that game world.

famous - You kinda hit the nail on the head.

Those that I've talked to that play the game say it's very, very difficult but great fun.

The cover system forces you to use extensive cover, throw lots of ammo at the opponents, and never, ever bunch up together. The only major gripe has been the lack of rotating/zooming camera, which hampers alot of ingelligent moves. Outside of that, the core gameplay is very strong for a strategy first, RPG second game.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

It reminded me a great game I have for the PS2 called Ring of Red, it was awesome and one of the better RTS for the console.

Ring of Red is good.  I'd call it more of a Turn based strategy game though.  The Action was in Real Time but the movement was turn based.

That was a great game too... well aside from all the battles lasting like 30-1 hour minmium.

Granted... but WW2 Fantasy... instead of "I wack thee with my sword" fantasy like nearly every other SRPG.

Either way, as an SRPG enthusist I am extremely excited for a change of scenary and tactics.
