Arc and Natal are a good opportunity for Nintendo?

A good chance for learning 8 8.42%

Competition breeds advancement 42 44.21%

Nintendo has nothing to learn 33 34.74%

I like Wii just the way it is 12 12.63%

Total:95

Nintendo doesn't have to worry, they're swimming in so much money right now it's ridiculous.

Nintendo also already seen Eye Toy, Natal doesn't advance on that much.

I think competition may arise a bit, but nothing insane.

:P

  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

Apparently Nintendo studied a Natal like device and decided not to go with it. The Arc is basically a Wiimote with minor differences, so..............they have nothing to learn from both of those. IMO

I dont belive Natal/Arc with have any affect on Wii

Anything they could drop that could potentially makes Ninty's idea of motion control inferior will be trumped by the Vitality Sensor, and that is being generous.....

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

This. A lot of people who enjoy the Wii will not buy another console just for the graphics. If the ycared about that they would already have one. Arc looks to be somewhat a Wii mote. Natal looks like it could rock, but it will make little difference to Wii sales. I think the only thing that can happen is, it might make Ninty focus more on putting motion controls on "core" games finally. Though I have yet to see any of Natals, so who knows.

Natal technology was tested and refused by Nintendo one year before Microsoft took it.

Arc is basically another Wiimote with wii motion plus. Pretty much the same despite buttons layout.

I don't see what can Nintendo learn in here...

That "Vitality Sensor" is a complete gimmick, in my humble opinion.

@Games4Fun - Actually, I really do think the Arc will open up a whole new experience, more than just graphics.  Thats, just my opinion, but I honestly believe it will.

I like the Wii, but it's definitely not my favorite system.  I will probably get Arc, because it will open up a whole new aspect.

I think the whole point of the Arc, is not to attract wii customers, but to keep playstation customers on the playstation, with the added benefit of giving a customer who is interested in MoCo a hard decision between the two.

Personally I think many companies that made 'good' games exclusive for Wii and had miserable sales on it will now on make them for the Arc AND the wii....so I think it's a win win for all :) What Wii can learn from them depends on what Arc and Natal do so it's hard to guess atm.... but good competition = better results always

Competition breeds advancement.

I think the Arc will be more competition. Though Natal is interesting tech and helps advance interface tech it feels more like an HD PSeye camera.

Truly the thing I want out of the next gen of consoles is a form of VR. Maybe not true VR but something along the lines. The gay 3d tech of Avatar doesnt count.
