Yes, it annoys me that Microsoft lets developers make the game they want to make and if they see interest in the title, throw additional money at the developer to improve the game or just break even on its development.

Damn them.

You know what's even worse? That later on, PS3 fans MIGHT GET TO ENJOY THAT SAME GAME!

ARGH! Damn you, Microsoft!

only if they did it for that :p.

So what if they do it for other reasons? At the end of the day, the developer creates the IP THEY want, MS gets timed exclusivity, and the developer gets additional funding to put into that game or their next title.

Oh, and PS3 owners may get the game at a later date. As a consumer, that business model is way better for us than the typical first or second party developer system.

The problems are these

1. MS lies and suppresses any information suggesting it's going to go to ps3 so anyone who doesn't know better gets ripped off

2. 360 owners get screwed out of decent exclusives since MS doesn't bother making any

1. Welcome to the real world. Marketing teams don't like to give money to another company and then allow them to say "oh yeah, but it's coming to another system in 9 months." That's just shitty business.

2. What do 360 owners "get screwed out of"? Playing a game? No, that's right, they got to play the game a year ago. How does it POSSIBLY IMPACT THEM if another system gets the game long after they're done playing it?

true that, not only that they stop people from playing a game they had zero input other that paying for timed exclusvity.

it's not better than having ur own first party, look and sony and nintendo.

Yes Rockstar couldn't of broken even without that $50 from MS *eye roll* stop deluding yourself

That was a loan and yes, Rockstar was in MASSIVE financial trouble at the time. The company hadn't had a hit game since San Andreas and rumors were swirling that EA may initiate a hostile takeover manuevre. Rockstar had been losing its ass for several quarters in a row before that $50m was handed to them.

MS did them a big favor and got two neat exclusives in return. Fair trade.

TIMED exclusives, and that wasn't a loan from what I heard, and if Rockstar was in that much trouble they deserve to go under, how many of those music games do they own the rights too? not to mention GTA, what the hell are they wasting their money on

If it wasn't for M$, console wars would be boring. M$ took Sega's place.

How exactly are they getting ripped off?  By the time the PS3 version releases the 360 version is likely much cheaper so if anything its the ones waiting for it to come out on PS3 that get ripped off.

Stop the tr***ing, please.  Not sure how you aren't banned yet since you are so blatantly obvious.

Are the games somehow worse after they're on multiple systems?

FFXIII is, and my point is I wouldn't of bought a 360 if I knew it's exclusives weren't you know exclusive

So you would have waited all those extra months/years to play those games?  Don't be silly.  Grow up and get banned, tr***.

I've waited months to get my 360 repair (overall) already and yea since I'd have ps3 exclusives, it was close but the 360 was cheaper and I didn't intend to play online, but the exclusives went mutliplat so it was a mistake

It just annoys me that developers think they can release a game over a year later for full price when it has been out for so long. and you can get the other version for about 20 dollars.

Well I was one of those idiots that bought a 360 for those games that just ended up on ps3, it seems all MS has is timed exclusives, and if I would of known at the time I wouldn't of bought them but of course all the information was suppressed and dismissed as rumors or bullshit, and then when it did happen MS just tried to shift the focus away from that game and did it all over again and frankly I'm surprised how many people actually defend MS for this, yes it's a good business strategy, yes it makes them money, but what they seem to forget is MS is screwing them over to do it, are people really that delusional and in denial?  And it's not like MS has stopped anyone who thinks every 360/pc game or 360 "exclusive" currently listed has no intentions of being ported is just plain wrong, I'm sure ME2 is one since EA owns the rights, and who do they think they are trying to kid with Conviction but of course there are those of you who won't beleive me and believe a company that makes its money off lying to you sigh so yea anyone else sick of MS and think they should just make their own freaking games instead of just renting them and not even having the decently to buy them out completely

Idiots? You are a bit offensive here, don't you think? Some people want to play the games now and not 9 months later, so what's the problem of buying a x360 if they have money to buy one?

Microsoft will continue to make the same thing because some people will buy their console just to play the game in the launch (you like it or not).

So you'd rather see a company go under than see another company set up a mutually beneficial arrangement that gives them both a shot in the arm and continued success.

Yep, I'm done with this thread. It's a giant waste of my time.

Just FYI, you're borderline trolling and need to tone it down. You're not even trying to be reasonable. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

What are you talking about?  Rockstar didn't do music games... man tr***s are getting even less intelligent these days.
