Are you recommending that people pirate a game that isn't even out?

I didn't even know there were that many PS3s in China to make this worthwhile.

For a while Sony and Nintendo have been trying to get a good foothold on the chinese market but piracy, government and gaming restrictions have proven a stubborn obstacle.

This is an obstacle that is becoming more and more necessary to get over as the main markets saturate and the Chinese citizens growing economic might is proving to be too difficult to ignore.

China has a lot of people and a tiny 0.5% of the population buying a console is 7m sold.

The games the government would allow is a different matter but FFXIII is a step in the right direction and could be the start of something that becomes much bigger.

I hope it does well.

Some things must to say:

1. It's only for PS3...and you know that PS3 game can't be pirated.
(SE said they won't release FFXIII on 360 in Taiwan.)

2. PS3 (hardware) doesn't released in China. This version is for Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao.

3. More than 100k PS3 has sold in Taiwan since it launched.

4. Metal Gears Solid 4 sold more than 10k first week in Taiwan.

5. Gears of War 2 sold 20k in Taiwan since it launched.

Does any company dominate China. Sony getting a good foothold there would be huge. Bigger potential market than U.S. eventually. Possibly lol.

They just release it in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao...which also consider as part of China...

But the population of these three places is only about 31.5m..

(mainland China has 1.3b people....)
