Many studies on the effect of violent video games are either performed by anti gaming lobbies, looking for an answer rather than the truth, prove possible correlation not causation and only show short term effects not long term. There's also strong evidence that competiative sports lead to increased violence in society but does anyone talk about banning them no.

Probably Sony. Their motion sense controller is the only one that showed you battling an army of skeletons with shurikens and swords. That is way cooler than shooting a target or talking to a kid....

The studies also only show increases in violent behavior and not adress circumstances where violent video games work as a means of letting off steam rather than bottleing it up and releasing it all at once. Plus while gaming websites may be biased so can mental health institutions who seek to find a link between violent media and violent behavior and will eventurally find it.
