If the next-gen is REALLY all about motion control....

in Gaming Discussion on 04 May 2009

BenVTrigger said: @ JGarretI hope to god he's wrong. And I think he is. I think honestly gaming is a large enough culture that the "casual" games can live perfectly fine with the "hardcore" games. Look at the movie industry. Movies made by Pixar which appeal to large audience age groups due great as do films for just strictly a mature audience. Both are great and both generate money. ...

Opinion: Forget 'Games As Art' - Try A New Approach, says Gamasutra article

in Gaming Discussion on 25 April 2009

I meant "art" in the form of culture, not imagination. Like, Many Shakespearian works are considered 'art' but they don't really take you into a different world, their not as interactive/immersive as say Lord of the Rings....

Jack Cayman (MadWorld) vs. Marcus Fenix (GoW)

in Gaming Discussion on 25 April 2009

You know, Jack and Marcus seem like the same people when I was playing their games. I mean, there are obvious differences, but I think that they must be related to each other in some cosmic sort of way. But I do think Jack will win. Jack's more badass....

Opinion: Forget 'Games As Art' - Try A New Approach, says Gamasutra article

in Gaming Discussion on 25 April 2009

Video Games aren't about art, they are about two major things:1) Sport - challenges and skill and overall fun games, which is what sports are2) Interaction - Being immersed in something virtual to get off of 'real world' stress"Art" has nothing to do with it, or maybe the art is simply indefinable. But only fools make games for art, people make games for "sport" and "interaction"....

Did Miss California lose because of her opinion on gay marriage?

in General Discussion on 23 April 2009

I don't hate people. I don't hate anybody for any reason. I am a Christian, which means I rise above circumstance, above the problems of life itself. So to damkira who thinks he's so wise; I don't hate white people, and you clearly misunderstood my post. RubangB - The facts only show how terrible things are. Anyone with a differing opinion then will be destroyed by other people. Like Miss...

damkira said: @SepirothIf you're black and know discrimination, then you should know better than to discriminate against other people. Gay people not being able to marry is the exact same thing as denying interracial couple the right to marry. Please tell me where anybody says gay people are "special?" We only want the same rights as everyone else. My name is Serapheart (I dislike...

in General Discussion on 22 April 2009

WessleWoggle said: Serapheart, your argument is useless until you actually explain what is special about marriage between a man and a woman. IT's not a law of the universe, and it really doesn't matter if it's a tradition. Removing the female clitoris is a tradition in some places...Also, your view has *not* been since the beggining of humanity, only the beggining of some humanities....

in General Discussion on 22 April 2009

I LOVE this thread!!! 1) damkira Its a shame that some people in the U.S. (especially in the South) are so narrow-minded and bigoted. It would really do them well to visit other parts of the world and see that there are different people from them. Thankfully, the rest of the U.S. is changing and these bigots are now in the minority. Hopefully one day, they will know what it is like to be...

    Healthcare isn't a business, it's peoples lives

in General Discussion on 22 April 2009

The way i see it, it is the Government's job to protect people's lives. That means when you are sick, you should be able to go to a hospital and get treatment without having to worry about having the financial privileges that other people have.I mean it's ludicrous that in America healthcare isn't 'free'. ...

Ok, that developer is clearly insane. And how do people not understand the difference between video games and toys. Toys are basically physical hardware that one must use their own imagination to enjoy. Games are series of challenges based on skill that are usually fun for the player. Video Games are games made up using virtual and digital technology. The Wii is neither of these things, the Wii is...
