For many athletes, the overhead press can have a great impact on their overall athletic performance. Due to many of the reasons listed above, it can work to keep athletes healthy while work their entire body instead of leaving off some integral pieces that the bench press does. No matter which sport is performed, most require a movement of the entire body not just the upper or lower. That is why the whole body effects of the overhead press can pay off.
