I specifically looked into picture lag when purchasing a flatscreen TV. I would guess that many low-end LCD's may have significant lag. Some TV's provide a 'game' option to remove picture processing. You might be out of luck with your TV. The Panasonic plasma I ended up getting is terrific. Wii looks great on it, and no noticable lag....
