    Do you own a smartphone?

in Gaming Discussion on 21 April 2013

I recently upgraded to Galaxy Note 2 and its amazing. The size isnt much of an issue as some reviewers claim and the S-Pen is well integrated into its features; I thought it was going to be gimmicky but they really pulled it off. The new Sony badger really turned my head recently though. Lovely wee phone that...

whats the most emotional game you ever played?

in Gaming Discussion on 14 April 2013

Shadow of the Colossus. The colossi always had a melancholy look and even though I knew why I was fighting them, it always niggled at me as to did they deserve it. The main character almost came across as selfish in his determination to bring back the dead, almost as if he was satisfied to sacrifice 16 lives for 1. It was a unique game that let you interpret it in your own way thanks to little...

Grandia: How a forgotten JRPG solved the problem of repetitive combat

Grandia 3 never got a PAL release so i never got the opportunity to play it sadly. Ive watched clips of it on youtube and the battle system dosent look that bad at all. Does it get repetitive at all? ...

Grandia: How a forgotten JRPG solved the problem of repetitive combat

in Gaming Discussion on 13 April 2013

Played this game through again about christmas time on the Vita. I remember reading about it in Sega Saturn Magazine in 1997/8 and hoped it would get converted. Had given up on it until Ubisoft snapped it up for release in Europe in 1999. Completely agree with the reviewer about Grandia 2, it just grated toward the end. The story was nowhere near Grandia's standard either. It wasnt a bad game...

Would anything have been any better had the N64 had discs instead of Cartridges?

in Nintendo Discussion on 09 April 2013

I think it would have increased sales but not to playstation levels. Nintendo launched the console almost a year after its rivals. Playstation was starting to really take off and saturn was sufferig. When it hit it was expensive compared to Playstation and the heavily discounted Saturn.  You always hear rumours of Nintendos indifference to 3rd parties back then. Arrogance almost. I remember...

The shining force series, before Camelot left, was the reason I bought a Saturn and a Dreamcast (although it never released on DC I lived in hope). Defo start with Resurection of the Dark Dragon. You could play Shining in the Darkness but id give it a miss. It was to repetitive for me and I dont think its aged well. Shining Force 2 was a series highlight for me. Shining Wisdom was... good....
