Kwaad said: Let me explain to you the Wii's system. You can save games, pictures, sound, movies... on your memory stick. You can put I think something like 8gb SD memory cards in it. But that dont mean anything for this. The downloadable content only works on the internal Flash drive. (conveniently it is soldered to the board) (and yes that is spelled right) That is what you would need to upgrade. But then you would need to take the memory out of your memory card, and give it the proper pinout for the board. Basically impossible. And then you fry the OS on the Wii, and loose your Wii code... so that would fry your Wii.
Kwaad, it's been already said from Reggie that with a firmware update in the near future they will allow you to save your VC games on SD cards. And, the Wii warranty is 1 year not according to Nintendo, there is a law in every country which determines the warranty duration of all electronic stuff. In most countries this is a year. The 90 days you talk about is the extension you can get by registering your Wii. Also, if you send your Wii to Nintendo during the 12-15 months of your warranty they can fix it up (if there is not a big problem) or send you a new one with all your previous-Wii data.
