https://www.pcgamer.com/conan-chop-chop-has-been-delayed-again/
Conan Chop Chop, the co-op roguelite that originally masqueraded as an April Fools' gag, won't be hitting its February 25 release date. It's been delayed before, but apparently Mighty Kingdom still needs to get that "final chop in place," according to CEO Philip Mayes.

https://www.pcgamer.com/classic-indie-rpg-geneforge-is-being-remastered/
Spiderweb Software has returned to Kickstarter to fund its next RPG. The indie joint, founded by Jeff Vogel in 1994, has been consistently putting out complex, liberating RPGs that, you'll quickly notice, aren't exactly easy on the eyes. They're great, though, and the next one will revisit one of the most unusual outings: Geneforge.

Destiny 2's inventory-deleting bug was caused by a remarkable run of bad luck
https://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2s-inventory-deleting-bug-was-caused-by-a-remarkable-run-of-bad-luck/
A couple of weeks ago, Bungie was forced to take Destiny 2 offline for the bulk of a day to fix a bug in an update that caused widespread loss of glimmer and rare enhancement materials. Yesterday, it happened again—it didn't take quite as long to fix (because developers knew what was going on this time) but it was still several hours of downtime for a major online game.
You might wonder how this kind of thing happens in a well-established game being run by a large, experienced game studio. If so, that large, experienced game studio is here to explain: With the game back online, Bungie posted an unusually https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/48723" target="_blank">deep and detailed explanation of what went wrong, and what it's doing to avoid that kind of gong show in the future.

As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, Sweeney said that said that the industry needs to move away from a "customer adversarial model" if it wants to maintain the trust of its audience.

https://www.pcgamer.com/79-of-league-of-legends-players-say-they-were-harassed-after-a-match-ended-according-to-a-community-survey/
League of Legends' reputation for making people lose their cool during a game is well documented, but a surprising 79 percent of the 3,784 respondents to a recent community survey said that harassment continued after the match was over. Getting cussed out, being sent friend requests repeatedly, and, almost exclusively in the case of League's female players, being sexually harassed, were the most common forms of post-match toxicity.

https://www.pcgamer.com/pubg-is-getting-an-8v8-team-deathmatch-mode/
PUBG is getting a team deathmatch mode with its imminent 6.2 title update, as part of a new Arcade branch of the game focused on new game types. Unlike the game's shortlived stab at TDM in 2018, this one eschews the sprawl of battle royale for tight, 8v8 matches across seven small maps set in existing PUBG environments.

Resident Evil Resistance, the assymetrical multiplayer outing that'll come bundled with the Resident Evil 3 remake, just had two new playable villains and maps announced. The game operates similarly to Dead by Daylight: four survivors need to ward off the attacks of a powerful antagonist, and in Resistance these antagonists are "Masterminds," each with varying abilities and approaches.

https://www.pcgamer.com/mass-effect-writer-drew-karpyshyn-says-he-left-bioware-because-it-became-too-corporate/
Longtime BioWare designer James Ohlen left the studio in July 2018, after 22 years and credits on games ranging from Baldur's Gate to Anthem. His departure came shortly after that of writer Drew Karpyshyn, who'd been with BioWare for nearly as long—his first credit is as a writer and editor on the Baldur's Gate 2 manual—and who left, for the second time, a few months earlier. Now they're back together again at Ohlen's new studio, Archetype Entertainment.

He encouraged the developers at his DICE talk to "come and play" with its franchises.

In a Steam announcement, Crowbar Collective announced it has pushed a complete build to a public beta branch, with the intention of this build then becoming the same one released when the game comes out of early access. In effect, unless there are any major, unexpected issues that need fixing at the last second, this is the release build of Black Mesa.
