https://www.pcgamer.com/failbetters-next-games-are-likely-to-play-very-differently-from-sunless-sea-and-sunless-skies/
Fallen London, the browser-based progenitor of Sunless Sea and Sunless Skies, is celebrating a decade of weirdness and wonderful prose. It's a big achievement given the declining popularity of browser games, and the trickiness in making them profitable. As well as concluding the long-running Ambition storylines, the Failbetter team hosted an AMA that hinted at the series' future.

GTA 4 was removed from Steam because of Games for Windows Live
https://www.pcgamer.com/gta-4-is-no-longer-being-sold-on-steam/
Update: Rockstar has released a statement confirming our speculation that Games for Windows Live is to blame for the removal of Grand Theft Auto 4 from Steam.
"Grand Theft Auto 4 was originally created for the Games For Windows Live platform. With Microsoft no longer supporting Games For Windows Live, it is no longer possible to generate the additional keys needed to continue selling the current version of the game," a Rockstar rep said. "We are looking at other options for distributing GTA4 for PC and will share more information as soon as we can."

https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-76-wastelanders-testing-begins-this-week/
The Fallout 76 Wastelanders update promises to do big things for Bethesda's multiplayer survival sim through the addition of NPCs and companions, a new story quest, dialog options, and other options that will hopefully make it, you know, more Fallout-like. (...)
A "small number" of Fallout 76 players will soon have an opportunity to see what the big update will deliver, by way of a https://fallout.bethesda.net/en/article/6Q8uNfDvJ9ywNGKgzOH9gC/fallout-76-wastelanders-private-test-server-coming-this-month" target="_blank">Private Test Server that's set to go live later this week. The test will be PC only, and sounds pretty restrictive: Players invited to take part will be required to sign an NDA, and will not be allowed to stream, record, or even discuss the test sessions. Testing will take place on a Wastelanders-specific development build of the game, "and you should expect to encounter issues during gameplay," Bethesda warned.

Two of the biggest things to happen in the videogame industry over the last couple of years are battle royale and Auto Chess, known more generically as "autobattlers." https://www.pcgamer.com/epic-confirms-that-weekly-free-games-will-continue-through-2020/
2019 came to an end a couple of weeks ago, but the Epic Games Store's weekly giveaways did not. In fact, it finished the year with a flurry and then started 2020 with a three-fer, before settling back into what appeared to be a familiar one-a-week pattern. Today, Epic finally made it official: Weekly free games are here to stay for 2020.
