Double Fine games are not known for pushing the limits of graphics, they could easily support both XB1 and XS. Isometric RPG's like inXile makes aren't known for being graphically intensive, they can easily be cross-gen. They could always acquire more small indie tier devs as well to do that. Holding back the AAA's and AA's though is a mistake imo, and I really hope that they don't do that beyond Holiday 2021. |
I just really don't believe that is going to happen.
They need show-pieces. Their first-party studios are resourced to make them. They're already used to splitting features for the Xbox One X. The technology has been shown to scale well. PC developers are already routinely inserting features in to their games that can only be taken advantage of by a select few gamers with advanced cards.
And importantly, this doesn't apply to third parties who might not have the resources to stratify features. If they move on to the next generation, thats their business.
