It protects your head as well lol. I've bumped into the floor trying to look down a pit :) It's only in the way when I get an itch on my head. But yeah, after a while you forget it's even there and taking it off after a few hours of Skyrim VR is like transporting back to another world. I've forgotten a few times which room I was playing in, surprise.
