Part two of the news:

Fortnite Halloween event lets you murder the Storm King
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-halloween-event-lets-you-murder-the-storm-king/
Fortnitemares has returned to Fortnite. This year's Halloween event brings with it a moody monarch and a horde of undead bastards. The Storm King is apparently a bad dude from Save the World, Fortnite's original and often overlooked mode, but now he's causing a ruckus in the battle royale.
>> And you can now be a Hex Girl with the new skins.

Blizzard confirms departure of former Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm directors
https://www.pcgamer.com/blizzard-confirms-departure-of-former-hearthstone-heroes-of-the-storm-directors/
Crunched in the midst of a Kotaku report on how 2019 went sideways for Blizzard is another bit of news, not directly related but still very interesting, about a trio of veteran developers you may have heard of—StarCraft 2 lead designer and Heroes of the Storm game director Dustin Browder, former Hearthstone director Eric Dodds, and former Hearthstone production director Jason Chayes. All three of them, it turns out, are no longer with the company.

Destiny 2's latest update nerfs bottom tree Striker and Dawnblade subclasses

The Festival of the Lost has returned to Destiny 2, bringing Halloween-themed fun and frights to the Tower including decorations, special rewards, and the return of the Haunted Forest. It also brings some not-inconsequential behind-the-scenes changes in the less-excitingly-named 2.6.1 update, including nerfs to the Striker Titan subclass aimed at toning down its lunatic dominance in the Crucible.

Warcraft 3: Reforged multiplayer beta is now live (Updated)
https://www.pcgamer.com/warcraft-3-reforged-multiplayer-beta-begins-this-week/
Warcraft 3: Reforged, the remastering of the great Blizzard RTS that was announced last year at BlizzCon, will begin multiplayer beta testing this week. Blizzard said that the test will kick off with 1v1 and 2v2 matchmaking for the orc and human races, with the undead, night elf races, and more game modes, coming "in the weeks ahead."

Update: Apparently when Blizzard said the beta would begin "this week," it meant "today." Invitations are already going out, and people are playing it on Twitch, if you haven't received one yet but would like to see what it's all about. Have fun!

Can you escape Resident Evil's 'Choose Your Own Adventure' Halloween dungeon?
https://www.pcgamer.com/can-you-escape-resident-evils-choose-your-own-adventure-halloween-dungeon/
Game companies are doing all sorts of fun and interesting things to mark the coming of Halloween. Destiny 2 is bringing back the Festival of the Lost, for instance, while Team Fortress 2 is now Scream Fortress 11, and Agent 47 is wearing a pumpkin on his head. There are some sales, too.
And then there is Capcom, which is currently running a Resident Evil "Escape For Halloween" game, playable in your browser. It seems that you were kidnapped on the way to a Halloween party—oh no!—and then dropped into the deadly Umbrella Project maze, and now you have to make your way out in what is essentially a digital "Choose Your Own Adventure" game.

Minecraft now has foxes, brown mooshrooms, and 'Suspicious Stew'
https://www.pcgamer.com/minecraft-now-has-foxes-brown-mushrooms-and-suspicious-stew/
Life just got more complicated for Minecraft's chickens, as wild foxes are now roaming loose in their strange, blocky world. The red-furred creatures that arrived in today's 1.13.0 (Bedrock) update will come out at night looking to make a meal of your birds—but with a little effort, you might be able to make a friend of them.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare angers Russians who call it 'propaganda'
https://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-angers-russians-who-call-it-propaganda/
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare takes place in a fictional Middle Eastern country, but very obviously borrows elements from the ongoing Syrian Civil War to build a narrative in which British and American forces buddy up to fight evil Russians. Predictably, that plot hasn't gone over well in Russia.

The next Battlefield game won't be out until mid-2021 at the soonest
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-next-battlefield-game-wont-be-out-until-mid-2021-at-the-soonest/
The Battlefield series has been pretty regular over the years: Battlefield 3 in 2011, Battlefied 4 in 2013, Hardline in 2015, Battlefield 1 in 2016, and Battlefield 5 in 2018. The wait for the next Battlefield, whatever it ends up being called, will be a little longer, as CEO Andrew Wilson said in an investors call today that it won't be out until sometime in EA's 2022 fiscal year, which begins on April 1, 2021.
