Electronic Arts all but confirms its return to Steam
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/electronic-arts-all-but-confirms-its-return-to-steam/
A new rumour surfaced last week, suggesting that Electronic Arts would return to Steam. And yesterday, the publisher has shared a teaser video that all but confirms this. This video shows an EA steamy cup (get it? Steam, EA).
>> It would be great but also odd. Why coming back to Steam now and not going to the Epic Store given that they left to get more money?

Steam now asks if you want to revise your user review after spending more time with a game
https://www.pcgamer.com/steam-now-asks-players-if-they-want-to-revise-their-user-review-after-hours-of-play/
The beta version of the new Steam client has started asking players whether they want to revise their user review once they've logged additional hours in a given game.
The new feature, part of Steam's big new library update, was first highlighted by user PunnyCasual on the Destiny 2 subreddit. A pop-up message on their Steam client, which they captured and posted here, read: "You've played an additional 93 hours. Would you like to revise your review?"

MODS/EMULATORS

PC gamers can now play Zelda: Breath of the Wild with higher FOV and an “Over the Shoulder” camera
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/pc-gamers-can-play-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-with-higher-fov-and-an-over-the-shoulder-camera/
While The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has not been officially released on the PC, PC gamers can already enjoy it by using the Nintendo WiiU emulator, CEMU. Not only that, but earlier this Summer, the first mods appeared online for this Zelda game.
(...)
The man responsible for this mod is Silentverge. Silentverge was able to increase the FOV and include various camera angles. PC gamers can now use a close FOV, a classic FOV and a FAR FOV cameras. However, the most exciting new viewpoint that this mod adds is the “Over the Shoulder” camera.
This Over the Shoulder camera is a really cool new way to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. As such, we strongly suggest downloading it and testing it.

First mods for The Outer Worlds let you skip startup videos & unlock UE4 Developer Console
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/first-mods-for-the-outer-worlds-let-you-skip-startup-videos-unlock-ue4-developer-console/
Private Division has just released Obsidian’s new RPG, The Outer Worlds, and it appears that its first mods have surfaced online. The first mod allows you to skip the startup splash videos, while the second one unlocks the UE4 developer console.
According to Infogram, there is currently no convenient method to skip the developer splash video that plays when starting the game. However, most users can work around this by replacing the .mp4’s with blank files. You can also bypass it by deleting the file, however this may introduce issues.
On the other hand, the second mod unlocks the UE4 developer console. This will allow players to mess with developer commands, cvars and more.

You can make The Outer Worlds' tiny text bigger with an INI tweak
https://www.pcgamer.com/you-can-make-the-outer-worlds-tiny-text-bigger-with-an-ini-tweak/
The Outer Worlds has received a positive response both from reviewers and many happy players, though one fairly common complaint has to do with the teeny, tiny text size. There's a lot of reading in The Outer Worlds: dialogue subtitles, item descriptions, journal entries, menu text, and more. And there's currently no option to adjust the size of the on-screen text, which is unfortunate. It's pretty itty-bitty.
However, a fix may be on the way. On Twitter, Obsidian Production Director Alec Frey said he would "double check this issue is in our database today and is properly prioritized!" Hopefully, we'll soon see some options to adjust the size of the game's tiny text.
(...)
In the meantime, there's a tweak PC players can use while we cross our fingers for an official option to be added. There's an INI file that can be edited to scale up the entire UI, which makes the text a bit larger. I tried it out and it works, though you'll need to fiddle with the value a bit to find the sweet spot. And keep in mind, this tweak resizes the entire UI, so if you make it too big it will expand past the edges of your screen and you may not be able to read everything or click certain elements.

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/skyrim-hd-se-is-a-10gb-hd-texture-pack-featuring-thousands-of-1k-2k-and-4k-textures/
Over the past few months, we’ve shared a number of Texture Packs for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. However, there are gamers out there that would prefer a single pack with a lot of textures for numerous objects. And today, we are bringing you such a HD Texture Pack.
Modder ‘luxor8071’ has released a 10GB HD Texture Pack for Skyrim Special Edition that features thousands of 1K, 2K and 4K textures. As said, this pack is ideal for those that do not want to search the Internet in order to find out the best packs for skyboxes, snow, furniture, interiors, etc.
Going into slightly more details, this pack adds new high quality textures for architecture, skies, clutter and dungeons. It also improves the textures of various effects, like whitewater and candleflames. Moreover, it adds new textures for both the Dawnguard and the Dragonborn DLCs.
In order to install Skyrim HD SE, you’ll have to first install SMIM and Blended Roads. Then, you’ll have to download Skyrim HD SE from here. Afterwards, you’ll have to run SSELODGen or TexGen and DynDOLOD.

These mods for the first Spyro game upscale all of the enemy and boss textures to 4K
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/these-mods-for-the-first-spyro-game-upscale-all-of-the-enemy-and-boss-textures-to-4k/
Modder ‘Cramped Misfit’ has released two must-have texture packs for the first Spyro game. These mods are for Spyro Reignited Trilogy and upscale all of the enemy and boss textures to 4K. Now as the title suggests, these improved textures are only for the first Spyro game (from the collection). As such, don’t expect the enemies and bosses in Spyro 2 and Spyro 3 to look better. Still, these packs are a must-have for anyone that wants to play the first part.
>> Check the article for the links to both mods (both at Nexus Mods) and the instructions to install them.
