Friday news, part two:

https://www.pcgamer.com/gta-online-gets-a-king-of-the-hill-mode-and-a-sweet-new-ride/
Rockstar has added a new game mode to GTA Online called King of the Hill that will pit 16 players, divided into teams, against one another in a battle for dominance across seven different maps. Specifics are a little thin in the announcement—get a gun, grab the high ground is pretty much the extent of it—but to get things rolling, players who take part in the mode will be awarded double GTA$ and RP until October 16.

Hatoful Boyfriend developers are working on a 1990s Hollywood murder mystery game

The developers of the bird dating simulator Hatoful Boyfriend have announced a new project called Murder By Numbers, a tale of mayhem and murder set in 1996 Hollywood. With the assistance of a reconnaissance robot she picked out of the garbage (which suggests to me that it's not an entirely true-to-life recreation of the '90s), TV detective Honor Mizrahi must turn her investigative talents to the real world when her boss is murdered—just minutes after he fired her from her hit show.

https://www.pcgamer.com/modern-warfare-system-requirements/
Update: Activision has updated the Modern Warfare system requirements post to explain why it's asking for 175GB of real estate on your hard drive. "175GB is the storage space we recommend players keep available in order to download the post-launch content we’ll be bringing to Modern Warfare. At launch, the initial download will be smaller," the page now says.

https://www.pcgamer.com/unity-of-command-2-will-be-out-in-november-beta-signups-are-open/
Unity of Command 2 was announced earlier this year as a dramatically updated sequel to the outstanding 2012 strategy wargame Unity of Command. It pits the Axis and Allies against one another in Europe through the years 1942-45, with a new 3D engine that promises to give the battlefield a far more detailed and dynamic look. New systems, including HQ locations and bonus objectives, promise to add further depth to the experience.

The tenth anniversary of League of Legends is rapidly bearing down on us, and Riot Games isn't going to let it pass uncelebrated. The studio laid out some of its party plans for the big b-day today, which will include "digital events," in-person activities at Riot regional offices, and a special livestreamed tenth anniversary edition of Riot Pls.

Chorus is an interactive mythological musical from RPG veterans

Former BioWare and Beamdog designers David Gaider and Liam Esler have unveiled their new studio and its first game at PAX Australia, and unexpectedly it's not an RPG. Chorus is a musical adventure game whose closest relative is probably the exceptional Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode, Once More With Feeling.

Untitled Goose Game needs this character creator
https://www.pcgamer.com/untitled-goose-game-needs-this-character-creator/
The mean-spirited protagonist of Untitled Goose Game can stick a jar on its beak or strut around with a fetching bow, but there are lamentably few opportunities to play dress-up with the evil bird. I didn't think it needed a character creator, but after Goose fan and Paralives developer Alex Massé made a fan prototype, I can't think of anything else.

Microsoft Flight Simulator's technical alpha recruitment comes to an end next week, but only because the alpha build is almost ready for release. Prospective players will start receiving confirmation that they've been accepted on October 17, while access to the skies will be finally granted on October 24.

Epic still hasn't revealed the release date of Fortnite Season 11, but an apparent leak from Apple's Italian App Store suggests some pretty huge changes are coming to the battle royale.
