MS - Original Xbox: This was when I was still pretty much exclusively Nintendo with a bit of PC and Sega so I'm probably a bit biased there, but even in hindsight the console never had many redeemable qualities to me. It's big and bulky, as is its original controller. There weren't a ton of games on it that interested me, especially in the exclusives department. And the Xbox line's coup de gras, XBL, had yet to be really fleshed out anyway. MS boasted having the most powerful console for the time, but the GameCube's power was actually somewhat comparable and the graphics were similar.

Sony - PS3: Never much of a Sony fan in general but the PS3 is probably the height of the bombastic cinematic style of games which aren't typically my cup of tea. Not that it's a bad console, but most of its notable games for me I was able to play on Xbox 360 anyway. It also came with a rough pricetag for the majority of its life.

Nintendo - Wii U: Console tried to hinge on the success of the Wii with the branding but its library contained a lot of obscure games that were more reminiscent of the GameCube library, many of which were just tough to get into. I was never fond of the bulky, cheap looking and feeling gamepad controller and the "miiverse" thing, which just made getting to your game unnecessarily long and cumbersome. It had very few games that interested me and most of the good ones are now on Switch in some form anyway.
