I don’t see it happening. Yeah, maybe MS themselves will still continue to support Xbox One, but I’m almost sure that third party publishers will drop it’s support pretty early. |
Really I highly doubt even MS will support it two years from the Scarlet's launch. Maybe 6 months to a year. I'm sure they'll put xCloud on it and count that as support.

Yeah, I do think they need a permanent price cut. Not sure what they're pricing strategy is at this point, but I was just looking at PS3 price cuts. Once it went down to $299, it stayed that way until it got a cut to $269 3 years later. That is not much of a cut. |
The PS3 was too expensive, due to custom chips, to make to drop the price much more. The PS4 doesn't have that problem. Right now, Sony is probably just making as much profit as they can on the PS4 since its sales are still alright, offsetting PS5's R&D. I have no doubt they will be cut this holiday season permanently. The only question is by how much. They could do the full $100 drop to $199. However, I think they will only drop to $249, since there is still demand at that price and continue with their $199 BF week deals. $199 will most likely come next year with the launch of the PS5.
