Thats what happends when you go from like 20nm -> 16nm FinFET.
Imagine if nintendo actually had these chips done for 7nm.

Also they now use LPDDR4X DRAM , which is also helping abit with power consumption.

So soc got shrunk from 20nm->16nm, and ram use abit less power too.
Overall this leads to like a +80% better battery life.
