Honestly, I think it more likely that they come out with a switch tv, a non portable switch, then a switch pro. Then people would have a choice of what they want, portable only, tv only, or both with the original. Not sure why anybody would get either of the limited options... but Nintendo believes there is a market for it...so there probably is...

Well, as they successfully reduced the price by one third for the Lite, I can see why Nintendo believes there is a market for it.

For a TV-only Switch I am not so sure. While handhelds are a market and nothing current is in that market besides Switch a Switch Lite at a lower pricepoint to further dominate that market makes sense. In the TV-console area though there is competition. And I don't see what a non-portable Switch on TV offers over a PS4. The hybrid Switch allows to seamlessly switch between TV and handheld, this is something else. For a TV-only Switch something additional is needed.

Basically it would allow them to reduce the price of the unit, much like the portable only unit.  Also, you can’t play Nintendo games on a PS4, that is how it differentiates.  The games.
