Because it's EA.
What do people want ? Great solo games which great and original stories. This generation, games like The Witcher 3, Zelda BOTW, God Of War or Red Dead Redemption were praised for their quality.
What EA does ? Releasing a great amount of multi-player oriented games with a lot of micro-transaction, ruin franchises like Star Wars and abandoning a console with huge sales 2 years after its release.
Do all of this make sense ? Of course not, but at this point, it's better to ignore EA
