I'm wondering if Sony will make an appearance at the AMD conference to help announce Navi, which would also be announcing PS5. Also interesting that MS didn't announce how powerful their system was. Could that mean that Sony got the power crown, again?

I have a hunch both machine will be identical, Microsoft were actually announcing PS5 LOL. It will come down to feature , innovation (VR, controler gimmick) , service, price and first party quality.

Nothing will change, Next gen battle is just a continuation of this gen battle. All PS fans will just migrate to PS5. That's why Microsoft is now focusing on Xcloud. Their console is an assurance to their old fans.

EDIT: For appearance on AMD, i am not sure, because AMD will announce some GPU for PC, so i think SOny will keep quiet until next year.

Yea, my guess it they will both be ~10% of one another. Nothing drastic like the ~40% we saw at the beginning of this gen. Sony will definitely have them beat on VR, especially if the wireless model is an actual thing. I also have a feeling they are more willing to take a larger loss on HW, so will beat them on price, even if it's only by ~$50. And I agree, the focus on xCloud is very telling.

As for AMD, I know it's not guaranteed Sony will be there, but AMD has definitely been talking up their partnership as of late. I remain hopefully optimistic. At worst, it'll still be interesting to finally learn about Navi and we'll just have to wait for PSX to hear about the PS5.
