This definitely looks like a much more open world game than the initial trailer seemed. Aside from the art style/graphics still being a bit underwhelming, not sure what people wanting a more open world direction can complain about. More or less looks like the direction fans were asking them to go in here. I'm excited. My only real gripe is that I'm definitely not sold on Dynamax yet as actually enhancing anything gameplay wise. Seems super gimmicky and even a bit lazy since nothing about the Pokemon's design even changes. I really don't know why they haven't just stuck to Mega Evolutions. That's one gimmick that was amazing and actually worked beyond just being a gimmick. Ultra Beasts, Alolan forms, and Dynamax from the early looks of it have all paled in comparison to Megas. Bring them back, so much possibility still on the table with them. Also a tad bummed the mascots look so similar to each other, even though I think the overall design idea is really cool.
