Going from PS2 to the PS3. I haven't thought much about graphics for ages now. I actually like 2D games more than 3D games honestly. I remember loving Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 then "upgrading" to RCT3 and thinking the game was absolute shit. I felt the problem was the 3D graphics because nothing looked good anymore. I don't even play mainstream games anymore. I play things like Don't Starve, Oxygen not Included, Darkest Dungeon, Graveyard Keeper, etc.
Part of it I realize is that I just don't care about cosmetic details. My friend took me to see the aurora borealis once in Alberta Canada's countryside and I didn't really have high expectations and I left feeling it was exactly what I expected. The sky changed colours a bit... woopty doo....
