I've said this before and I'll say it again. I'm black.

When Nipsey Hussle was murdered, I decided to Google a list of rappers who were killed. I think there were over 50! All I could say was "What the fuck?"

You never hear about a Justin Timberlake or a Tim McGraw getting shot and killed. Rarely arrested. Rarely robbed. Our artists go through this so often, it's normal.

Not only that, I listen to a variety of music genres. I can listen to the country stations, the rock stations, or the top 100 and here songs about respect, church, love, heartache, etc. So much emotion. I listen to urban music stations and at least ever other song is drugs, guns, murder, cheating, materialism.

It's fucking disgusting.

I remember being a kid and being absolutely shocked by some NWA or Luther (Luke Skywalker) Cambell lyrics. It actually bothered me and I kinda felt guilty. Now almost every artist produces content just as bad. What does that do to a kid? What does that do to an entire culture?
