For instance, lawyers (and others) here need digital certificates to digitally sign their work. A lot of software for government agencies also work only on Firefox...

Same here, I think I never realized how disgusting the Internet can actually look.
In the meantime, I'm enabling the add-ons temporarily through the debugging feature until I'm sure they've 100% fixed it.
