Well, there was Robinson's Requiem, a really difficult to survive game on a planet with many beasts including Dinosaurs:

I'm thinking more like Turok 2008, but better. And we're just now achieving the compute power for a very nice looking jungle open-world, I think. Forests are very demanding and always looked sort of fake in games. But a lush, dark one would make for a nice survival game in the next decade.
