I got Final Fantasy XV for Christmas back in 2016 for PS4 (my first FF game) and was really loving it but then either I couldn't play my PS4 for a while or got sidetracked by other things so I didn't play it for a few months. I think I got about 20-30 hours in but by the time I tried to re-get into it months later I just couldn't, I didn't remember where I last was in the story or what I was even doing that it became obvious that it just wasn't going to be the same experience and I wasn't about to replay the past 20-30 hours again so I never have completed it. It sucks cause I was really loving it :(
That's the only major game I can think of where I just couldn't return to after a while despite wanting to. The only way I can see myself replaying it at this point is on PC eventually.
