This is also why pretty much no one likes doing business with nvidia.... thats because  they don't take that whole bulk purchases thing into account. Other companies charge you less because you need a lot and will need a lot more.... nvidia charges you more when they see you need more or anything extra rom them for that matter.

Aside from the fact that having your parts being on such successful products (as the PS4 for example) means a big free advertising for them.

I'm not saying the discounts are enough to sell gold for the price of silver, but those companies don't have to pay nowhere near to end user prices to get their componets.

To me with a $500 price point and taking some loses (not more than $50 per system in the first year) both Sony and MS can put beasts of consoles in the market.

Look at the XBX, even having to comply to the original XBO it could pack as much power as it did for $500.

Next gen will be really showcasing really powerful systems.

Isn't the power consumption and heat level of a 14,2 tf gpu the bigger problem for sony/ms than the price of those components
